Signs

My first project inspiration was found on pinterest. I have searched and cannot find the original link within a link I followed to get to the end product.  However, the picture is provided below...as is the black in white one from the pinterest user, sunsurfer.  These signs were cut and sanded by my father and eldest son, painted by me and my thirteen-year-old, and will be finished up with the help of a teacher/friend at work who has a Cricut!

I will use magnetic tape to attach the final projects to the metal posts in my MC pointing out the the direction/location of the books!   What a cute addition:)

Changes

We are starting 2012 off with several changes in the Kennedy Elementary Media Center!  First of all, I am Kellie Ouzts, the new Media Specialist at Kennedy.  I have been teaching, in some capacity, since 1999 here in Barrow County.  I am the mother of four boys and one girl.  My kids range in age from nineteen to five-years-old.  Needless to say, they keep me on my toes.
I received my Bachelor of Science in Education from Brenau University, my Masters in Instructional Technology/Media Specialist from Georgia Southern University, and will finish my Specialist in Educational Technology from the University of Florida this summer. I just mailed in my application packet for the Doctoral program at the University of Florida today and will find out if I am one of the lucky twenty-eight chosen for the Fall cohort in April!
I have made a few changes to our Media Center so far with the hopes of creating a cozy, child-centered environment. Pinterest is my new source for inspiration!
